This past week a Darden Restaurant Community Grant was presented to Union Station Homeless Services of Pasadena with a donation check of $1,000! Members of the charity came to Yard House Pasadena for dessert and conversation and everyone had a good time getting to know each other.
Our opening today at The LINQ in Las Vegas, NV marks the 50th Yard House restaurant and it’s also the largest location boasting just over 18,000 square feet and a 2 story dining room!
We also couldn’t be prouder of the teams that have gotten us this far and look forward to the success to come with the next fifty locations. And here are some of our newest team members from The LINQ… you’ll be seeing them soon!

Each week Managers in Training from around the country come to the Darden offices in Orlando, FL to learn the tools and techniques they will need to excel in management. And last week, for the first time, our MITs were among the attendees.
While in Orlando, the MITs spend an intense week training to work well with team members and guests and learn safe cooking and working techniques. They also have the opportunity to interact with other MITs from around the country.
“The whole operation is really impressive and very well organized,” said Sara M. from Yard House Pasadena, CA.
“It’s a great opportunity to come and see how we are part of a bigger picture,” said Cesar J. from Yard House Rancho Cucamonga, CA. “And it’s great to get to meet some other MITs from the other brands to get a chance to hear about their experiences and stories.”
Fredrick J., an MIT from Yard House Denver, CO, said his co-workers made very specific requests before he left. “Bring back key chains, mugs, golf balls – they wanted anything with a Darden logo on it!”
Michael M. from Yard House Rancho Cucamonga, CA, said his restaurant would be happy to have him back. “We’re always so busy, so I know the team back home is ready for me to come back and put what I’ve learned here to use.”
Tomorrow, Saturday, December 7th, marks the 17th Anniversary of our flagship location at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, CA! The past seventeen years have been nothing short of incredible and we want to thank all of those that have been part of our Yard House family over the years.
We couldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for our enthusiastic team members and our loyal fans; it’s because of you that we’ve been able to take Yard House from one location in 1996 to 48 locations in 2013! Thank you to everyone who loves Yard House as much as we do.
Thank you to the fly-over crew for sending us these great photos of our Orlando, FL location. We are very excited to be opening this location seeing as Orlando is also home to the Darden Headquarters. All of our team members in that office are eagerly awaiting this opening!
This past weekend at our Legends Outlets Kansas City location a car show & cruise was held atop the parking structure near our location. The cruise was formed to welcome back member, Wes Mantooth, who has been working in Dubai for most of the year.
Our General Manager, JW, welcomed them all into the restaurant after their cruise for lunch and to try Boulevard Brewing Co. Foeder Pojekt #1 a unique draft only wood aged sour beer – which they all loved!
Here are some photo from the car show, cruise and their lunch with us!
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Restaurant Support Center team members wore pink to work to share their support!
Well folks…it’s been a blast! We’re sad to say goodbye to the 2013 Great American Beer Festival but it was another memorable event. We’re very thankful that we were able to participate again and we want to say thank you to all of the fans that stopped by our booth. Also, a huge thank you to the team members who helped make this a successful and fun event for all of us.
We can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate all of the support from the GABF community and how thankful we are to take part in such an amazing beer event.
